Hands down, Rasika is one of DC’s BEST restaurants. Its certainly the best Indian indian in DC and may be the best in the nation. Bold statement, but Chef Vikram Sundaram’s creations are no secret - he received the 2009 Best Chef Mid Atlantic Award by James Beard Foundation - and Raskia got four out of four stars from the Washington Post Magaziene in 2009. But what’s important is to try the food - start with the Palak Chaat (crispy baby spinach, yogurt, and sweet date chutney). The sweet smokey flavors and crispy crunch are unparalleled. From there you’re on your own to explore - but you may want to tapas it up with Black Cod, Goan Fish Curry, Lamb (Either Chops or Roganjosh) as staples.
